"I am told we were one of the first monitoring clients Networking Delaware engaged when they began offering the service. While we saw the value in the proactive philosophy, we never realized how soon or how much it would directly affect our organization.
During the third month of our contract, we received an email saying that our backup had failed. When it failed the second night in a row, we asked Networking Delaware to come to our office and investigate the cause. As part of this investigation they tried to restore some data from a previous, supposedly "successful" backup. In doing so they found that most of our tape backups were not restorable. Our backup software had repeatedly reported success when in fact the data was corrupt. As part of a disaster recovery plan set up by Networking Delaware, we now backup to disk and off-site via the Internet. We feel we are now protected should our server crash or some other disaster befall us."
